Hi,
A friend of mine run into trouble with a Windows 2000 Server machine and about 12 Windows 2000 client network. All he did was to use Partition Magic to increase the system partition on the server machine.
I cannot think of a reason why increasing the partition could create havoc on the server.
Sorry but as I told you that happened on a friend of mine so at this time I have no more info.

Thx

I can think of lots of reasons why messing about with partitions can cause problems. It is not something you do with ensuring you have backups to recover from.

To increase partition size he must have decreased the size off another partition to make room for it unless her already had unpartitioned space on the disk which is unlikely.

Playing havoc is not a very good clue as to what might have happened. More information is needed as to exactly what the problems are and exactly what you friend did.

Stuart

What did he use Partition Magic for? Meaning did he just move a partition? Increase it without freeing up space on another partition? What kind of problems did he have? Ask your friend for specifics so that we may be able to help.

Life's more painless for the brainless.
