I networked my two computer using home phone line 1.0 (HPNA 1.0) and the client computer( Running Windows 98 SE) is sharing the cable internet from the server computer( Windows 2000 Pro SP1). However, when I ping the server from the client computer, there is 25%packet loss. Although the internet surfing in not affected, how can I resolve the packet loss problem? Thanks alot for your help!

In 95% of time, this kind of problem is related to network card (NIC) driver. Update your drivers, or try another NIC.

I dont think its your network card,...how old is your phone wiring, where is it placed in the wall, insulated cable or not insulated cable? I think your problem is interfearence on the line. Try taking a new cable and stretch it from computer to computer on the floor and see if you get the same loss,......... my $.02
