I have three computers networked through a Linksys router. I want to be able to share my e-mails on all three computers. I was thinking that I could have each system download e-mails to a file saved on my Buffalo Technology Link Station that I just purchased. I am having trouble getting Outlook to change the file saved location place from the C: drive to the Link Station (I have used to maintenance option under the tools menu).

What kind of email account do you have? POP?

YOu have mentioned nothing about your email system. THe connection info you shared is irrelevant.

Let me add: You need a IMAP account in order to synchronize emails on different computers.

You will not be able to get this to work. However, you could change your settings to save email on your IP server and then be able to read from each machine, however it will still be confusing because you will have different mail and sent items on each machine.

The easiest way is to use something like AOL or MSN for email. Everything remains on their server and you can read and write emails from any computer in the world and the same info (emails, address books, sent mail) are on every computer.

As has been said, the only way of getting what you want is to install an IMAP server on one machine that will configured to retrieve your mail and hold it locally. You will then set Outlook on each machine to send / retreive mail from the IMAP server rather than from your ISP.

As you have seen, its not possible to set Outlook to save to a Network drive (certainly this is true for OE - I imagine its the same for outlook).

I've tried to do the same, the best I could manage was to have 1 machine receiving mail normally, and the others set to 'leave read mail on the server'.
