Hi u all!
I have a user that when login to OE get a dialog box with "incorrect password". The system asked her to changed the password and since then she can't use OE. She is loging in to the network and using her other applications with the new password without problems.
What's the problem?

I once got a similar error when i worked for a bank. According to the IT desk the problem arises when one changes ones password when OE is loaded, but only when OE is checking the mail server. I think they said OE keeps the old password within profile but on the server the password is updated and as OE requires verification to check email the problem you mentioned arises. I hope this helps.

Thanks, but how I fix it? She tried with the old password and didn't work.
A helpdesk guy tried to reset the password as the old one, but didn't work.
Does this password is case sensitive? Is there a way to change it just in OE?
Thnx

I don't know how they fixed it. I imagine they just reset something to do with OE. They explained the problem to me but not the fix

Inspite the user said that she tried the old password, we told her to try it again and it works. So, with OE, when you change the Windows logon password, the OE password remains the same.

Hmmmm....as I said earlier I think it may be that she changed the password with OE open and accessing the server so OE didn't update its passwords. get her to close OE and change her password again and see what happens

Hi,
The following might help you - try it
Open OE
Click on 'tools' and then 'accounts'
a new window 'Internet accounts' will open.
Click on 'mail' on the top.
Click the account, the one that u are using now, and click on 'properties' on the right side.
click on 'servers' on the top.
here u will see 'account name' and 'password'. delete and retype both the account name and password. Password is case sensitive. This is the ONLY place on OE where u can change the password.HOPE THIS WORKS!!!
