Hey i need help on something, i have 2 computers hooked up to my switch (linksys 5port), but only one connects to the internet when theyre both hooked on the swich, but if i connect them directly to the cable modem.... they work, but again if i have them both connected to the switch only one works........ any idea? Well at 1st it was the other way around with the computers, then i disconnected the network cable that computer cant connect anymore unless i do a direct connect with the cable modem... both computers have different ip's both running windows ME please help me?

Have you put the internetcable in the switch and the cable of your cliënts??? Then it won't work. Why???
Because you only get one ip address of your ISP and you are connected with 2 pc's. So the 1st pc you pu on gets the ip address and can connect to the internet the other one can't.

What you need to do: Connect the cable (internetcable) to pc1 and connect another cable from pc1 to the switch then a cable from pc2 to the switch.
On pc1 you need to install an internet connection sharing program. e.g. ICS from Microsoft itself.

ICS is available from Win98se and later.
