I am very new at this so I really need some step-by-step help. I have downloaded a torrent(a program I really want)and I have a bit torrent program (I think). Now, how do I open this torrent to get the information inside it so I can install the program/patch I need to run the program inside the torrent????? I would appreciate any help possible. I know you're all really smart out there.Could you please respond to my email address of judysgarden@att.net? Thank you.

OH my!

First bit is don't put your email online. You will just get spammed.

Second is torrents tend to be havens for virus's and malware. I suggest that you don't use them unless you are really sure your system is hardened against attacks. Remember when you download things you let the bad guys in.

Lastly most of the stuff is stolen anyway.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Thanks for the advice. I guess it was a little too late, however. I still need the answer to my original query.

re:
the 'program/patch' almost guaranteed it will have a trojan/virus built in , do your self a favour, dont open it if you dont know what your doing,
otherwise the next post might be on security and virus forum.

if its pre wrapped in a format you cant open its done for that reason to hide somthing else.

now a days there is usually a freeware program that will suffice to what ever you may need, btw dont post the prog name ;) there plenty of alternatives freeware.
