My desktop has DSL and a printer. I am able to share web access with my laptop via a Netgear wireless router, and I've created a network with the two computers. However, my laptop is unable to "see" the desktop (shared folders, printer), while the desktop is able to see the shared folders on the laptop. I've made sure the 'share printer' box is checked on the desktop and also 'share this folder' box is checked on a couple of folders, but still unable to get the laptop to see the desktop. Please help. Thanks.

Sometimes starting over the networking process will make it work.Make sure both have the same workgroup name and for now try sharing an entire drive- C or D.If your running software firewalls make sure they are set to allow each others ip addresses. When you try to locate your desktop from the laptop be patient.Sometimes it takes awhile to locate it and you might have to repeat the procedure a few times before it works.
