Hi guys...Here's my setup...
Cable Internet connection-NO router...
Trying to set up my NT 4.0 Server with 2 NIC cards, IP forwarding so I can then connect up other machines on my Home Network to the I-net...I have NIC card #1 DHCP to get the IP address from my cable ISP...
I have NIC card #2 with a static IP...this will feed my LAN...
Now I would like to instal DHCP on the server so I can have DHCP on my client workstations...
When I install the DHCP service, it forces my NIC cards back to static IP's...this is ok for card #2, but card #1 needs to accept DHCP from the ISP...
I believe this will work...but I'm missing something???
Any ideas??
Thanx Steve

Yes that should work.
If you have trouble go to each NIC's advanced properties and make sure DHCP is properly configured.Just a question:
Wouldn't it be better to run the cable into your hub / switch upload port, then have all the machines connected to that same hub, then install a proxy to the server? That way, you would force the machines to log on to use the network, and could then monitor / control intenet traffic, as well as run firewall software.
Is this a better solution?
