I hope someone can help...I have a Linksys wpc11 wireless card that was working well..then all of a sudden, when I put the card it it is being recognized as Token Ring instead of network adapter and the new hardware wizard pops up. I have removed all drivers and tried to reinstall them, but nothing has worked. I get no info from eithe Dell of Linksys

Do you have the cd that came with the card. Pop the card in, ignore the detection, install linksys software and see if the detection goes away. If not point it to the cd and have it detect the driver or force it to choose a driver from the cd.

Thanks for the reply...I actually don't have the cd anymore, but I did download the driver from their webpage and tried it, but i don't know how to force it to use that driver...it just tells me that there are no drivers there for this hardware

Instead of having it find the driver on its on, pick the driver you want it to take and it may say this drive is not recommended or something on the lines of that, tell it to use it anyway and see if it works.

Thanks..I did that now, but I have discovered that the problem is that the card slot is detecting the card as a Token Ring Network Controller instead of a Network adapter so the driver tells me that the card is not installed. In my hardware manager, it is not listed as a network adapt. I comes up under Other and has a big yellow question mark and an exclamation mark next to it...could it be a resource conflict? Perhaps there is some setting that I can fix? Thank you so much for all your help!
