hi guys i am setting up home networking and have stumbled on a problem. one network adapter card is not sending or receiveing packets . lights on, ip+subnet are set up, card is enabled , in its properties it says its working properly, switch is ok. any idea's. the other card is sending packets like billy ho but not recieving them. i'm running server2000 on two machines. if you think it might be cabling i need some input cos i'm lame on cabling. i have ping both mechines and no reply but do recognise themselves when self pinged !!!! appreciate some help thanks ian

Is the Nic IP addresses right? is it set for the subnet it attach to, with the correct gatway address. I would do a ipconfig /all from your cmd prompt and make the ip address fit in with the same subnet your trying to connect to.
