This is exactly what I did. I didn't disconnect my wireless connection before leaving last night. When I got to my friends house we searched to see if any we in range, but we didnt connect to it because it had security enabled. When I got home I had no wireless networks and refreshed a billion times and had nothing. Also my WLAN says its disabled but I can't get into it to enable. Up until right now when I plugged it in through the cable I couldnt get online. I had it sitting right next to the router and dsl and no wireless and through the cable it said connected at 100Mbps but showed little or no connectivity sign and wouldnt let me on the net. Any starter ideas for me. Thank you

What wireless router do you have?
when you directly connected from your pc to the router and attempted to logon to the router what happened?

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

I would recommend going into your network connections deleting the wireless connection and restarting the computer to force it to re-detect the adapter and reinstall the drivers.

Click on your wireless connection in the tray, click on the Connections tab, and if it sees your wireless network select this and also check, "automatically reconnect when in range".

naynay did you restart your router? if not, try that 1st. if the problem is on router's end, refreshing billion times will not help you, restarting will. and this have nothing to do with trying to connect to other wireless networks unless you have changed some settings for that or corrupted the drivers. i think restarting your router and laptop should solve the problem. if not, then come back and let us know, with a little bit more detail about ur router brand etc.
Good luck
