can you bring a dsl internet connection in on your first ethernet and then have a second ethernet card connected to another computer in the house?? (without a router)

Yes. The worst way to do this is with Windows ICS. A router makes things so much easier.

If you don't want to buy a router get a switch they are only $20 or less , if you can afford DSL you should be able to afford a switch . I just bought a whole wireless router/switch setup , after rebates it was like $25 , this was for Netgear equipment . The wireless nic was like $25 after rebates also . If you just run a switch make sure you use a firewall on all your connected pc's . Plenty of free ones out there to be had .
