no networks available

Specs: Windows Vista
i have used my router for a wireless connection for almost two years now and all of a sudden my computer says there are no networks available. ive had problems in the past where i had to reset my router but even then i could always see my neighbors networks. does this mean my NIC card has gone dead?
please help

Not necessarily. The driver could have become corrupt. Look in the device manager first, then the event viewer.
