in my network i have 4 xp machines (A,B,C,D) and 1 w2k (Domain Control) server. 3 of the 4 xp machines (B,C,D) succesfully accesses each other including the DC. The DC also access all the machines and can be accessed by all the machines including the A machine. But the A machine simply cannot be accessed by any machine in the network, only the DC can access it. On the other hand the A machine can access all the machines in the network. I just dont know what the problem is, when I attempt to connect to the A machine from another machine this error flashes on the screen:
\\A is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource. contact the system administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission. Access is denied.

I have done a number of things to solve this but no way yet, these includes: (1) Turning off the Internet connection firewall on the NIC of the A machine. (2) Going to the Service console and doing a thorough check up on the A machine. (3) Turning on Netbios over TCP/IP on the A machine.
Also one thing is worth noting here, all the machines on the network are NTFS only this machine A is FAT partitioned, could that be the problem? or could the problem be resolved on doing some seting on the DC? I need help please.

Try accessing a perticular share instead of trying to access all the resources. (ex: \\A\c$)
If my memory serves me right, if you are using FAT32 you can only use simple file sharing. I don't think this should be restricting you because with simple file sharing you can either have full or read only permissions. Still, I'd use XPs conversion tool to upgrade the FAT32 partition to NTFS anyway.

also make sure your users have the correct permission in your Users and Groups admin tool on your DC.
