I apologize for the long post, but trying to put as much details as i can: I have a netgear WGR614V6 router and I'm trying to connect it to my dsl from bellsouth, but so far, i can't surf the web once the router is connected.... I can connect to the internet straight thru the dsl modem, but when I attach the router, I cannot surf the web. I have done all the resettings----reset modem, reset router, disconnect them from power supply for 30 min or so, reconnect them back, etc, and still no connection. So this is where I'm at now: I disconnect the router, and I'm now connected to the internet straight thru the dsl modem. Then I connect ethernet cable from router to pc. I access the router's basic settings, thru 192.168.1.1, and I have the right username/pw for the dsl account. Internet Port: MAC Address: 00:14:6C:7E:90:C1 IP Address: 0.0.0.0 DHCP: PPPoE IP Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0 Domain Name Server: 0.0.0.0 That would be the issue. For whatever reason your router isn't picking up IP information from your ISP. I would suggest you contact their support at this point, explain the situation and see if they can't help you. You may be trying to setup the wrong connection type on the router.

Well, I did call, and they wanted to send out a technician for some money; i didn't like that idea.... :)

I fixed it by making the dsl router an ethernet bridge.
