No Internet Connectivity After XP R

Have a working Netgear314 router attached to desk PC. Had wireless connection with Dell laptop and everything is fine. Had problem with laptop. Reformatted hard drive and re-installed XP. Laptop now sees network but no Internet connectivity. Any ideas?

laptop sees network as in sees other computers, or as in sees the wireless connection in view wireless networks?

Then you have to make sure you have the ENCRYPTION KEY correct, and that it is typed correct. double click on the network in view wireless networks, type the key in and click connect. if this doesnt work then re set up the network on both pcs, using static ip addresses, and no encryption.

Ya was there any router sercerty key or something when you first setup your router?
Try pluging your labtop into the router and check out the menu
its usally http://192.168.0.1 for netgear I think and the username is admin nothing for password by default
