Hello,

In my NIC (Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Controller) properties advanced tab is a list of parameterable options, one being "Netwok address". Having it valued with the NIC address (192.168.1.7 )or having it not valued doesn't apparently change anything in the behaviour of the network.
What is the normal use and benefit of valuing this parameter?

Also, the in and out buffer size, what should be the optimal value? It is now "512" but I think TCPOptimizer has valued it.

Thanks alot for your knowledge.

Thanks Xp'

I'm not that easy with English language practice. Could you please confirm if I understand right that it has to be valued in order to use it as a gate for a subnet from my computer?

I was just confused by the fact that in the Configuration Panel / Network Connections / Properties / TCPIP / Properties, the card has already the 192.168.1.7 IP, so valuing it another time in the WorkStation / Properties / Hardware / Periphericals Management / Network Card / Properties / Advanced in my single level network didn't seemed to be of any use.

Would you have an advice for the buffers' size?

Thanks!
