Comment: Is there any way to get the network adapter link speed / duplex from the command line? Both IPCONFIG & NETSTAT provide valuable information, but no actual speed settings, I.E. 100/Full or 10/half or Auto/Auto. Thank you in advance SPW

Reply: (edit)The only way I know of is in device manager. Look under network adapters and get the properties for the NIC. That should allow you to change the speeds if the option is available with your NIC.

Reply: (edit)I just hold the mouse over the icon in the task bar (2000 and XP). A littl popup window tells you the connection name and link speed. Otherwise, go to Network and Dialup Connections and get "Status" of the adapter.

Reply: (edit)I need this information to be displayed in a command propt window or redirected to an output file, not gui format, for purposes of writing a network monitoring application that uses various batch files, scripts, and programs. I need to locate a file that holds the network settings information to dump that information to a text file so that it can be read by other programs.
