I have two desktops pcs and a notebook. I also have a cable modem. In order to set up a 802.11 G home network. I've decided on Linksys and I think I need the following:
Linksys wireless router WRT54G 4P
Linksys wireless PCI card
Linksys wireless PC card

My cable modem is located immediately beside my "main" desktop Pc.

Do I need a wireless access point in addition to the router listed above?
Do I only need a PCI card for the one pc that is not close to the cable modem and router? I'm hoping I can use a short cable for the pc that is close to the router and modem.

Sorry to ask such basic questions but I'm away for a couple of days and would like to buy this gear as soon as I get back!

Thanks much for any help.
Gary

Yep that's all you need assuming that linksys is a wireless 802.11g router.

You'd only want to get an access point if you wanted to use it to extend (repeater mode) your network to an area with poor or no recpetion.

For the record, D-Link is less expensive and has more features.
