Hi there, I'm just reaching out for some help on setting up a new wireless network (2 laptops off of a cable connection). This person already has the cable connection installed.

Basically I'm looking for info on what a solid router would be? Make, model, pricing etc. A stable connection is needed through all 3 levels of the house (1200 sq ft., not a big house). Setup/configuration of the router is also important.

The last thing would be on how to properly configure the router's wireless security and the 2 laptops connection to be able to pick up the wireless connection both at work and at home with minimal effort.

Any suggestions for the hardware is appreciated as well as any configuration tips etc.

Thanks!!

Set up on middle floor (no problem with range I'm sharing my
connection with someone 2floors down)

Security, WAP2 if compatible with laptop or WEP if not, deactivate
SSID broadcast (others will not see the network) and enable
MAC filtering...

Sure you'll find better routers but for quality/price I'll stick with
this one.......
