I just bought a Lenovo ThinkPad for my wife and I cannot connect to my router via wifi. I keep getting the message 'Windows was unable to connect to (network name). I tried it with router security disabled and I still get this message.
Note: The Asus that I just sent back for refund gave me the exact same issue. I have other Win7 laptops on this router that work fine. Router is a Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G.
I'm very confused.
Try changing the wireless channel used by your router. You must go into your router's configuration utility in a web browser to do that. Best channels are 1, 6 and 11
phil22 Thanks for the reply. I just tried the other channels (I was already using 6).
I brought it to a buddy's house and it connected no problem to his wireless network.
So, the only think that we can think of is changing out my Wireless G router to a newer Wireless N since the only difference between our two networks is the router.
I will post an update after I set up a new router.
