new dell studio slim and having nothing but problems. I keep getting IE can not display page errors and when I can get a page to come up then going from page to page takes an eternity. I can not download updates..keep saying they failed. Internet company is saying it is a software problem but Dell wants me to purchase their warrenty for alot of money. Here are some of the errors since getting it 2 days ago: win application error; an network cabl unplugged, when I try to log into my desktop settings it says the application can not be found. Dell will not help.
This computer actually closed me out of alot of programs and after arguing with Dell they restored it thru c moss. It seems as if the windows program is faulty.

If it's still under warranty, demand a replacement.

They would not even hear of it. They kept insisting I eeded to purchase a warrenty. I couldn't even get an American on the phone. If I requested one (so I could understand they would hang up on me. So I went to Staples today and they dealt with Dell even though I did not purchase the computer there. One of the techs said it was a problem with the hard drive and applications. After an hour on the phone and being hung up on three times the staple tech finally got them to send me a new one and I am shipping the other back in the box the new one came in. I don't think I will be dealing with Dell anymore and I have been a customer for years and years.

It seems like a matter of communication. The original pot sounded like a software problem. A hands on evaluation determined a hardware problem. That's the problem of remote diagnosis.
