Here we go.

I have a XP Home, 2000 pro and 98se

The 2000 can see the XP but not the 98.

The XP can see the 2000, not the 98.

The 98 can see the XP and the 2000.

I have installed netbuei on the XP and 98

I need to type in administrator to get into the 2000 from the XP The administrator password will not work from 98 to 2000.

You need to make ideally 200PRO the gateway machine but any will do. Use TCP/IP on all PC's. Give all PC's the same subnet mask 255.255.255.000 and give the main computer the IP address 192.168.0.1 the next one 192.168.0.11 and the third 192.168.0.21.

Alternatively if one computer is connected to the Internet set up internet connection sharing on that computer and set the IP to obtain an address automatically on the other PC's,

NetBUEI is not even natively installed in XP Pro as MS consider it an outdated protocol with lack of security HA! HA!

Lastly when using W2K make sure you are the administrator with full rights it will negate the need for passwords.

You can also Map Drives, the help file in W2K is pretty good.

Still can't see the 98 from Y2K or XP

I am running through a LinkSys router

Why using a router, why not use a LAN switch or hub, if u must use router, then u must configure ur 2000 advanced server well.

What type of Internet connection have you got?

If it is dialup, or DSL/cable without an Ethernet port, connect it to one machine and enable ICS, there is good documentation on this in XP help. DO NOT use a router, a hub is much cheaper and a router is needless.

If it is DSL or cable with an Ethernet port, you will need to connect it to the router, and then to the PCs. Use the multiple IPs assigned by the ISP, or use a machine as a gateway with DCHP (don't ask me).

Stick with TCP/IP and nothing else.

If I am talking rubbish at any point please tell me.
