I have a home network set up with 2 XP machines I am trying to add win98 to it. The network is through a Dlink router. The internet connection set up great but the nework wizard will not detect the ethernet card to set up the network. I believe it is because it is in use as andinternet gate way. any ideas

wouldnt have anything to do with your gateway, you dont need to run that network wizard crap, just make sure everyone has IP address, your router may provide that through DHCP, and make sure everyone's on the same Workgroup, MSHOME is the XP default one i think

How and where do I get the IP address for the second machine on my network? I have XP set up on one compuetr and 98SE on another. Both see themselves on their respective network "neighborhoods" but not the other. Any ideas as to how to get them to see each other?

Just in case anyone is having the same trouble I finally fixed it. I deleted the tcp/ip settings for the dialup adapter and card. Verified an ip adress would be assigned automaticly in the 98 system and rebooted. Problem solved. I was still unable to see the 98 machine on the win xp systems so I went back and shared the C drive on the 98 and it now shows on all systems. This may solve your problem Yaderp.
