I am trying to network 3 computers together with Netgear PA301 cards, using the phone line as the connecting link between computers. I can access the internet from the host computer but not computer 2 or 3.
has anyone used these cards and have you succeeded in getting them working? what do you have in network neighborhood configuration, do you need any software more than what comes with the card?files are not shared and computer 1 does not see computer 2 in network neighborhood as well.

restored my 2 test systems back to before I installed the PA301 cards and where I was using ICS with ethernet cards in both pcs and a crossover cable. I disconnected the crossover cable, removed the ethernet card in one machine (needed PCI slot) and replaced it with the PA301 card (phoneline internet card), installed a PA301 card in the other pc and using ICS have reestablished internet sharing between 2 pcs using only a phone line connection between them. files are shared as before with NIC cards and crossover cable connection. so this system of using the phone lines for pc-to-pc connection seems to be working. now I want to try and add the 3rd system.
the Netgear PA301 PCI card is put into each machine you want to share the internet and files with. It seems to basically replace the ethernet network card and CAT5 cables between pc systems, hooks the phone line in the house to your pc and uses the phone lines as the pc-to-pc connection. all this to avoid trying to route ethernet cable cat5 from downstairs to next floors up and use the fast cable internet service connection available downstairs.
