Hi guys
my pal next door and i decided to run a straight thru cable between our houses to be able to pass data etc .we are both on british NTL broadband, both on xp pro, both have hooked up via netgear switches . my broad band has disconnected and is now going thru the NIC. also says wan miniport (pppoe). now my question, how do i get my broad band back and what is our next step to configuring our set up.
cheers

Why is the cable going to your nic instead of to your switch? You should be able to tie into his workgroup through one of your switches.

is your dsl modem usb/pci?

if it's the latter do you a second nic?

taking one of the switches out of the equation would make it easier.
