I am networking with CAT-5E wiring and am using 8-Wire jacks. 4 out of the 8 wires match up together, but the other 4 are different. I anyone knows what wires to substitute for each other, please tell me, thank you.

What do you mean "using 8-Wire jacks. 4 out of the 8 wires match up together, but the other 4 are different"...

Normally the connector will have a color scheme guide along the sides of the connector. However if it doesn't, try this:
- CAT-5 cable is 4 pairs of twisted strand wires; the colors are not entirely standard but there is always a 'pairing' between them
- In a twisted pair the paired wires are sometimes striped and sometimes not, which leads to a lot of confusion. Fer example a pair may be one white/green (white with narrow green stripes) wire and the second green/white (green with narrow white stripes) or just plain green. The "normal" pairing is:
White/Blue
BlueWhite/Orange
OrangeWhite/Green
GreenWhite/Brown
BrownTo build a connector for a straight-thru cable the default and preferred T568A arrangement is:
1 white/green
2 green (or green/white)
3 white/orange
4 blue (or blue/white)
5 white/blue
6 orange (or orange/white)
7 white/brown
8 brown (or brown/white)The alternate T568B arrangement is:
1 white/orange
2 orange (or orange/white)
3 white/green
4 blue (or blue/white)
5 white/blue
6 green (or green/white)
7 white/brown
8 brown (or brown/white)Either should work; never Mix and Match T568A and T568B configurations. To build a Crossover cable (necessary for connecting two PCs directly), on one end of the cable switch the wires assigned to Pin 1 and Pin 3 and then Pin 2 and Pin 6. But not both ends of the cable.
