Is it possible somehow to link to Pcs by USB cable - I've heard its as simple as downloading some sort of ("usb bridge") driver from the net - not sure of the details.
What kind of speeds will I achieve - i seem to remember reading I won't get the full 12Mbits USB speed for some reason.
Also - is it then possible to link more than 2 PCs if each as more than one USB port? I've only got 3 PCs to link together and I thought ethernet would be overkill. Could I have one computer with two USB links one to each of the computers. It's not necessary for each computer to see the other two just one of the others and its just for basic easy file transfer.

copied the below from a nother post i did some of the info is not applicable but the majority is for three computers the price of using usb is the same any more and nic cards become cheaper but usb is far mor portable less invasive and faster (i have a full blown network at home but use the usb to alllow friends to hook up quick without changing their existatn network setup
linksys network in abox includes one hub and two network cards for around 75 us dollars
nic cards range form 10 to 50 dollars cable is cheap You can setup a peer to peer using usb for all three if you had enough usb ports but you cant do it with normal usb you would have to use something like genlink (can by at radio shack usb cable with a big bulge in center) and sets up just like a full network for both cable would cost 100 us dollars and is easier and more portable but slower that a conventional ethernet network
