Hello,
IM a graphic designer who is a mac user
of course, my job requires that. Currently I
have a Pc with ATT Cable Modem. How
would I go about making my Mac be
connected also? Would I need a 10base
T, A router or a hub? Could someone
please help me with this information, Ive
never done networking involving 2
different Operating Systems

both boxes would need network cards. i don't know how cable modems connect to a pc. i'm thinking it does it through a network card, so your windows box would have 2 nics. it would be good to have a hub.
on the windows box install ICS or use a free proxy server like analogx proxy (do a search for it). on the mac you tell the browser to either automatically detect the settings (if using ICS) or hard code in the proxy settings.
so you install a network card in each box and use tcp/ip for the protocol. if using ICS on the windows box you don't need to assign your own ip addresses. it will do this for you (i believe it will for a mac but not sure). if not, or if using a proxy server, assign your own ip's (10.0.0.1 with a subnet of 255.0.0.0 on one, ignoring the rest of the settings, and 10.0.0.2 with the same subnet on the other). tell the mac to look at your pc's ip address for a proxy server. analogx's software tells you how to set it up. it's not that hard.
i'm sure i've forgotten some steps. let me know if you need more help.
