I am experiencing some network problems with my laptop and desktop. I brought this laptop home from work, and it has alot of modified settings to connect to the network at my work. I think I have removed all the settings, but when I tried to use the Windows Network Wizard, it will not work. I have a DSL connect. The DSL modem is connected to a 4-port ethernet hub. The hub is connected to the laptop and desktop. Any ideas?

ISPs only allow you to have one Internet address unless you pay more. There are a couple ways to get around that though: 1) add a second network card to your desktop machine and use connection sharing software. 2) buy a router to share the connection (it is a lot smarter than a hub)

Yes I realize that. Both my computers have the internet working. I just want to be able to share my files between the 2 computers. But I am having problems with this. Any more ideas?

OK now I'm with you. File and Printer Sharing has to be added and enabled (control panel-network) and you need to create a share (right click a drive or folder and select sharing)

However,if that last suggestion works..You will need a firewall on BOTH computers to protect yourself.
