I have an intranet running in my office with a server running windows XP and the other linked up to it with internet connection sharing through the server (gateway) is there any FREE software anyone knows of that can allow me to block webpages and programs like Kazaa and download program that would use up bandwidth? I do not have a router so that option is out. It must block access to the website on all computers. most software I find requires another thing to be installed on the other computer but I don't want that. Can anyone help?

Squid proxy with Dan's Guardian. On Windows you have to compile it yourself with the free Cygwin/GnuWin32 packages. It is recommended on Linux for better functionality with less-powerful hardware (a P300 is fine).

Squid caches the pages and DG filters them according to many, many settings.

http://dansguardian.org/?page=extrasP2P sharing is a lot harder to stop. You basically have to monitor your bandwidth and cut off persistent connections. I do not know if Squid or DG handle this.
