Subject: Networking Error When Configuring I
OS: Kubuntu Feisty
CPU/Ram: ?/512
Model/Manufacturer: Compaq/nc4000
Comment:

I'm running Kubuntu Feisty on a Compaq nc4000. Up until recently, it's been playing fine on our home network (it connects wirelessly). But now, there's an error. When the wireless program tries to connect, it hangs at "IP Configuration". My Dell Dimension 4700 (w/ Kubuntu Feisty) connects to the network (though it connects through a wired connection), as do our two Compaq nc6000 (with WinXP Pro). Both connect via a wireless adapter. Our iMac (running Panther) connects just fine. BUT, our Dell Dimension 4600 claims the network has "limited or no connectivity".

I've tried resetting the router. That didn't work.

Now, there is one thing. I noticed that the IP address of the Dimension 4600 had changed from 192.168.1.105 to something completely different. I'm not sure if the same is true for the nc4000 or nc6000s. But I know that the IP for the 4700 changed, and then went back to 192.168.1.***. The 4600's stayed the same. Is there a connection?

I haven't changed any network settings recently (besides configuring my 4700 to print via Samba with an HP OfficeJet connected to the 4600. The OfficeJet, btw, has been connected to the 4600 for quite a while), and making the 4700 use OpenDNS (the 4600 also uses OpenDNS, none of the others do).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
