HI,We just installed NetGear on the main computer, which is also windows xp. The internet works great on this computer and the laptop connects wirelessly right away and is assigning the ip address 192.168.0.X.However, on the other desktop pc (where we use the wireless usb stick) it recognizes the network and connect to the main computer but will not allow it to go on the internet. It assigns it an automatic ip address from DHCP that is 168.X.X.X. Shouldnt it assign it an ip address in a range of 192.168.0.X?? Any help would be appreciated. Thank youJeff

When you say the NetGear I take it you mean a NetGear wireless router. NetGear is a manufactures name like IBM, DEL, or D-Link.
I don't know where you are getting the 168.x.x.x address from but it's not DHCP. If it were 169.254.x.x. then it would make sense as it is an automatic address that is assigned by Windows when it cannot connect to a DHCP server.
Check the the USB stick is actually connecting to the NetGear. The Model number of the NetGear would be useful.
