to configure the thin clients you need to get the thin client manufacturer utilties and procedures. Who makes your thin clients?

For thin clients, you need to have a terminal server that provides sessions to the clients. Windows server has a built in multi-user thin client system called Terminal Services which uses Microsoft's RDP protocol. One thing to note, is that you need to purchase licenses for every user that will log on, or every device that the user will connect from. Citrix provide an add on to Windows Terminal Services called XenApp, which adds support for the Citrix ICA protocol, which traditionally provided much better performance than RDP. Now Server 2008 R2 has been released, and RDP has been significantly improved, the gap between RDP and ICA may have shortened.
