Networking bridging? Wirless/Wired Network

June 26, 2009 at 11:34:42
Specs: Windows Vista home Premium
I have a laptop.
It has a wireless card and a wired card.

I access the internet via the wireless card.

Attached to the wired card is my router with my slingbox.

I can disable wired and get internet.
I can disable wireless and get slingbox.

How can I link these two together so I can stop the endless disabling and enabling.

I know how to do this via hardware but I don't want to put money out of pocket or move my devices etc. There should be a way to get the slingbox to see the internet so it can get updates to the guide program etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Vista home premium is the os.

Problem is you have a gateway entry on the wired nic. Take it off and you will get internet and slingbox.

if you want the slingbox to have internet access google internet connection sharing and follow the how to exactly.

Thank you soo much wanderer. With that bit of info I was able to deduce what to do.

Set up static i.p. to that of the connection to the router

11 and 12 is sling box and ndas storage.

Put in the mask.
leave the gateway blank
enable the connection and boom everything worked.

sling was able to download tv guide updates and connect to the user account on their site.
ndas worked like a charm.

you rock.

I'll figure how to stream out if i ever decide to.
Thanks soo much!!!!!!!
