Hi,

I have some Network related basic questions.
a) what is Netmask and Subnet mask ? Is there any difference between them?
b) My computer has been connected to high speed internet cable. And now I want to telnet with my friend's PC who's PC is also connected to high speed internet cable. Is this possible ? IF so how to do that ?
c) Is there any web links which can explain me the above concepts in detail ?

Thnks for your time.Hope for an early response,

With warm regs
Nada

you can telnet into your friends computer, but I don't think that's what you want to do.

your friend must be running a telnet server

a) a subnet is a network that is split to reduce the size of the whole IP domain... kinda hard to explain like that, but i know what it is ;)
