I am having trouble networking two computers with OS Win 95 & XP. I set up file sharing/microsoft client/Static IP + Subnet in each computer w/ the same workgroup and they don't show up in each others network neighborhood. The odd thing is, when I restart the XP system and do a NetBIOS scan, it shows the 95 system shares, but when I do a second scan it only shows the XP shares, that is its own. Also, when I ping the 95 system from the XP system, the packets are recieved, but when I try to ping the XP system from the 95, I get the following error: "PING: transmit failed, error code 10091." I am using a crossover and my first guess was a bad wire, but when I connect the 95 system to my LAN for internet access, I can't ping any addresses such as [google.com]. I'm willing to bet it's a NIC driver or configuration problem, but not sure. I have a 3com EtherLink III ISA on the 95 sytem and a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet on the Xp system. If anyone can help, please do because I need to retrieve data from the 95 system.

This could or could not help. It addresses the
"PING: transmit failed, error code 10091" error that you received. The reference to this error is located about half way down the page. Good Luck!

Yea, that should probably fix it because I'm having all of those problems, lol. Thanks.
