i have 2 pc's right now connected through crossover cable..can anyone suggest how to put a labtop on the network? i want to use a 4 port switch any ideas? and if i go with the switch which cable do i use regular cat5 or crossover?? thanks in advance.

Get a four port router so when you get cable
or DSL you can share the internet. Until
then it will act as a HUB/Switch.

i do have cable internet, and both pc's are on the internet i just need to add the labtop.

get a 4-port router (linksys, d-link, smc etc.). when you have that you will need to use regular cat5 not crossover cables.
