Everytime we have to put something through the manual feed (I.e. labels, envelopes, etc) it prompts the computer that it is connected, so the poor lady has to hit continue. This has actually caused some problems when she is on the phone and even more when she is not at her desk. We can't get access to her computer so everything stays in limbo until she returns. Is there a way to turn this off? The printer is HP Laserjet 1020. Again, it is connected to her computer but a few of us are networked into it. Thanks!

It's really a shared printer, not a network printer. A network printer has an IP address.

Exactly, what does the prompt say? Do the labels and envelopes feed from a different tray?

In a shared environment this is preferred. She should just learn that this step needs to be performed.

Other solutions would be:

a) Get a envelope printer.
b) Get a personal printer for this lady to print her envelopes.

Cheers.
