Specs: Windows XP
I have a lap top that was running a bluetooth device in the past. I no longer use that and am trying to use my regular wireless network. I keep getting a message that say's it can't renew my IP adress. Also when I look at the info on the wireless it say's that the 802.11a is disabled, but after trying to enable it using their steps it does not work. ideas?

Who is they?

It sounds like your WiFi is turned off but depending on the manufacture the switch to turn it on can be in a number of places. Most Laptops it is a FN+F1 through F12. You look for the Function key that has a picture of an antenna on it. Some laptops have physical switches just above the keybaord or on the side of the laptop.

You would be better off calling the Manufacture of the laptop to get help on this.
