Hello

I am using adobe ilustrator to open a 2 MB pdf file. The file is stored in a NAS hard drive that is in the LAN. Adobe ilustrator takes too long (15 seconds in opening the file. However, when I copy the same pdf file into the local hard drive of the computer, then adobe ilustrator opens the pdf file instantaneously.

Moreover I just did a test. I copied a 10MB pdf file from the NAS hard drive into the PC's local hard drive it was done instantaneously.

Therefore, my question is: why does Adoble Ilustrator take so long in opening a file so small as a 2MB file in contrast to the time it takes to copy a file from the NAS hard drive into the PC's local hard drive?

Thanks in advance

In a nutshell the answer is, "Because it's Adobe Illustrator"

If you really want an answer to a question about Adobe Illustrator, I suggest you contact Adobe's support people, which we are not. We're here to help with networking issues, not software issues and this is a software issue.
