Network sharing problem with 1 or 4 PCs

Dell / 9150

Specs: Windows XP
On my family's home network we have a Linksys WAG160M router-modem, an HP6140 as the main Desktop PC connected by an Ethernet cable and 3 other PCs-laptops (including a Dell 9150 desktop) connected by wifi. All 4 PCs share the internet and printer and work perfectly OK.

All the PCs except the Dell 9150 work OK in sharing the files stored on the main desktop, the HP6140.

The HP6140 runs Vista home premium 32 and all other PCs run XP. All the latest service packs have been installed and anti virus software (AVG) is turned off.

I cannot understand why 3 but not the 4th PC (the Dell9150) are able to share the files on the HP6140.

I believed that all the settings, including the Subnet Mask and Default gateway are identical so I cannot see why the Dell9150 cannot share the files (except it is the oldest of the PCs).

Going thru' My Connections the Dell9150 recognises the Network SSID and must be connecting through this wifi network in order to access the internet as it does this perfectly well.

Maybe I will wait for Windows7 and upgrade the OS on all 4 PCs but if anyone has any short term fix / suggestions, this would be appreciated.

Thank you

Update - the main HP6140 computer "HPDesktop" is NOT, however, recognised when I use the Search function within My Network Places on the Dell 9150
