Hey, I'm in university halls trying to share my network connetion by using a cable router. The network connection is MAC filtered (so i got the router to clone it) and put the router on static connection, set the IP address and gateway etc but it wont connect. I noticed the connection has a DNS suffix in my TCP/IP settings, If i put this in another computer and spoof the MAC it works. At the moment the way it is, the computer the conenciton is registered to can connect but only that one, the router conection light flashes to say it's not connected but the internet works. i can not connect any other computer to the internet connection. Is there a way i can make the router pretend it's the registered computer? For some reason the connection seems to pass through the router. When i go to the ISP's home page it shows the computers IP not the routers and the computers MAC (no matter which computer i connect) but wont let me connect to the internet if it isnt the registered computer.
The DNS suffix i have to add in the TCP/IP settings is "student.rail.downing.lan" it shows under ipconfig as "DNS suffix search list:"
Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks.

Try changing the suffix to
student.got.kicked.out.for.doing.something.stupid.I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

What you are attempting to undertake is against your Colleges Terms of Use and they will realise sooner rather than later what you are attempting. Bye Bye College Life!

Did i mention it's private halls? And that I don't care? If I want to use more than one computer on my connection, I will.
P.S. I have got it working.AMD X2 4600+ AM2 w/AC Freezer64
