Hi,
didn't know where to post it.

I have an XP machine connected to domain X. This machine connects with Lan connection 1 and accesses the internet through a proxy server A.

I now have a laptop computer which I can successfully connect to domain X instead of my XP machine. I would like to connect it via Lan connection 2 (second nic card) and crossover cable to the XP machine and still have access to domain X and internet.

I have tried bridging the two connections but got no result. If I connect my laptop to the domain, disconnect it and reconnect via the crossover cable I get the whole domain but no internet. If I do not do this I can only see my XP machine.

Any ideas?

What you want is either a proxy or ics connection. You want to share the internet connection on the desktop. You could bridge the connection if some things are true. I'd contact the system admin for more advice. There might be any number of issues that are not as simple as you suggest. Don't forget that a proxy and ics are gateways to let connections outside of the subnet. Again there might be any number of site protection against any simple connection.
