many hp laptops with 10/100/1000 nic
connect on an giga network
all switches are giga
cable cat 6
socket , patchcord , patchpanel are cat 6
but on some point the laptop works on 10/100 , same laptop when connect directly to the switch work on 10/100/1000
which tools can i use to test the cable capability
help

who put in the cable? If professionally done they should have providee a certification report on all cable runs. Ask for it. Otherwise you need a expensive cable tests capable of doing a cert report.

That depends on the switches themselves.

Are they managed switches or unmanaged?

Are they capable of trunking?

If they're managed and capable of trunking then you'll want to interconnect them via trunk ports.
