ok guys here it goes, please excuse me but i'm new to this. I have one desktop that is running windows xp prof sp1, then i have a lap top that is running winxp home sp2. I have a linksys wireless g router WRT54G. Internet seems to work fine on both however i cant seem to get them to see each other. on both computers i went through the network wizard gave description, name, and the same workgroup name. I have no idea why they won't seem to see each other. any ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you for your time. by the way when i try to access my workgroup it says network path not found?

The laptop with XP SP2 could be causing the problem. SP2 has the windows firewall enabled by default. To check it go to the control panel then security center. make sure its set to allow file sharing. Try temporaly disabling it and then try to network the computers. Its also possible for a virus or spyware to block network connection. Do a full scan to make sure everythings clean. If it still isn't working then you may have some network settings misconfigured or services disabled. Also, if its a wireless network make sure both computer are connected to the same wireless network and not some other one.
