Alright here's the deal: I have 3 computers connected to the internet on a cable line via a router. My computer decides to no want to work on this network...or any network for that matter. I tried all the different ports on the hub, and connecting it directly to the router. When it's hooked up the connection light flashes, and my PC says "network cable unplugged" then goes on for a split second, and repeats. I tried installing new drivers, to no avail. Even reformatted my hard drive. Still does the same thing.
Does anybody have any idea what the hell is wrong with my computer? I sure don't.

Try swopping cables round, see if you can isolate a faulty cable.
When it says "network cable unplugged" it means it. It means there is no physical connection - you need to find out why.

Have you considered the remote possibility that your NIC card or interface is bad?

Hi,
The solution might be in the two previous answers. First, check your NIC. Open a command box and type: ping 127.0.0.1 If you get a reply, your NIC is fine. If you get an error, you found your error! Secund, if the NIC seems fine, check your cable. Two options, the first one is that your cable is screwed up, the secund option is that you are using a crossover cable instead of a straight.
