I have a usb wireless adapter that I get my internet from and 2 wired ethernet ports on my computer. My printer is 1 that has an ethernet card on it. Before I had wireless, I had a switch that the modem, my computers, and the printer hooked into. I was able to set it up as a tcp ip printer with 0 problems. But now I am having some problems with it.
My wireless values are
IP 192.168.1.100
subnet 255.255.255.0
dg 192.168.1.1I have a cable going from the ethernet port into a switch, then the printer goes into the same switch. I have the settings on the printer itself as
ip 10.0.0.10
sn 255.0.0.0
dg 10.0.0.1I can get the printer to print on my machine, BUT when i have it all enabled, i lose my real internet connection. I believe it tries to get the internet from the wired connection, realizes its not there and disconnects me. The settings on my computer for that connection are
10.0.0.5
255.0.0.0
10.0.0.1So in the end, i have 3 questions... how can i get it to not disconnect me and if i set the subnet to 255.255.255.0, will i be able to use the printer from any computer? and.. can i eliminate the switch if i get a crossover cable? Thanks!

You have the printer on a different subnet. Put the printer on the 192.168.1.x subnet.
