Comment: Okay so I'm having this problem with networking my Printer. The printer is connected to my Windows XP machine. The computer trying to print is the Vista. Now here's my issue with it! Whenever I try and print something on my printer from the Vista computer it looks like it's going through. It sends all the data and reports no errors, but my printer doesn't print anything! The printer works fine as far as I'm concerned and prints perfectly fine from the computer it's connected to. Both computers can see each other perfectly fine, they can share documents and the Vista PC can see and add the printer but it jsut can't print @_@ Any help would be great, thanks.

Reply: (edit)Two basic ways to use a shared printer. One is to share it on xp and let another MS OS get the drivers when you ask it to use the shared printer. The other is to install the printers application on the vista and then use the port as ip address. My guess is that either your xp doesn't have the correct drivers needed to send or you need to install the software on the vista. Contact the printer company for the latest info on how they would set up a shared printer. I make the assumption that you mean shared not really a network printer. Network printers either have an IP address or novell printer server device. They connect a bit differently. I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.
