Hi, I tried experimenting today and ofcourse got in a jam. I have DSL and CAT5. My computers all access the internet perfectly in different rooms and I have everything homerun to the basement to hub and router. Today though, Upstairs I installed WIN2K Server on one computer and have another computer in the same room both with RJ45's going directly to the another hub that I decided to connect them with. The RJ45 coming from the jack in wall is going directly to hub also. I can map a drive to each of these computers in room from eachother and to eachother and both get internet just fine. However, everytime I try to add the one computer to the local domain on computer running server I get "Network Path not found". Everything is set up DHCP. I installed Netbeui also on both. I'm trying to get this all set up to practice using Active Directory off the server machine. Obviously, I need the practice. Is this problem due to my network setup, should I just connect the two computers via crossover cable and then use static ip instead of DHCP and if so what should I use for ip, subnet, and gateway? crossover cable, or DHCP, or something else? I have also set up rights for the one computer to logon but evertime I go to properties on "My Computer" and try to change it from workgroup to domain, I actually get to the logon credentials to add and then get the "Network Path Not Found". Is this an unrealistic setup for just wanting to practice active directory? I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks

Jeepers,
I'm building another NT 4.0 server and have come across the same thing. Installs fine, no problems, as soon as I try to do some administration, such as user manager, disk manager, etc. I get the same thing. "Network path not found." Any help would be appreciated.
